The new Leo armchair by Russell Gillott is a celebration of modern British design and enduring local craftsmanship.

This distinctive contemporary armchair draws inspiration from nautical geometry, expressed through bold, sculptural lines and thoughtful construction. Each piece is crafted from FSC sourced, solid kiln-dried American black walnut, chosen for its rich tone, natural character, and sustainable provenance.  Also available in an oak and matt black solid wood frame.  

The frame showcases meticulously hand-finished mortise and tenon joinery, fixed with high-strength cross-linking PVA glue.  Every edge is hand-sanded to a soft, smooth finish, then coated with an eco-friendly, natural-feel lacquer that brings out the grain while preserving a tactile, organic feel.

Comfort is at the heart of the Leo armchair’s appeal. Its form is created with supportive, lozenge-shaped cushions, upholstered in soft and supple inherently FR natural wool boucle. Twin-needle stitch detailing adds both structure and beauty, highlighting the tailored nature of the upholstery bodywork.

Available in three bespoke made to order solid wood frame options (Wanlut, Oak, Matt Black) and can be made to order in any of our fabric options.   A single 50cmx30cm bespoke made lumbar cushion (sold separately) fits perfectly into the seat and back cushion area for an extra bit of comfort and styling detial.
